Raleigh, NC–Justice Allison Riggs now leads Judge Jefferson Griffin in the race for NC Supreme Court by 623 votes.

County boards of election are finishing the canvass process, in which they determine that votes have been tabulated correctly and certify their election results.

“We expect a recount to be called in this race. Recounts are a normal part of election processes and show our democracy at work. They allow for transparency and inspire confidence in our electoral systems,” said Embry Owen, campaign manager. “Our team continues to feel gratitude for all election officials who are working hard to ensure a smooth, fair, and timely process.”

The deadline for the runner-up candidate to file for a recount is Tuesday, November 19 at 12pm.
