RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA — The Riggs campaign is closely monitoring the count of votes after the November 5, 2024 election for NC Supreme Court was too close to call.
“Every voice and every vote matters in this election,” Embry Owen, campaign manager, said. “We are monitoring the counting of all votes across the state, including absentee ballots and provisional ballots, and we will know more about our next steps in the days ahead.”
“I am incredibly grateful to the more than two million North Carolinians who have placed their trust in me and voted for me to keep my seat on our state Supreme Court. Over the past two years, I have been honored to stand with people across our state for courts that uphold our state and federal constitutions, without fear or favor. I want to extend my sincere appreciation to all of the volunteers and supporters who have joined me in this work, and to our election workers who continue to serve the people of our state,” said Justice Riggs.
Voters who have questions about their mail or provisional ballots should immediately contact their county board of elections. Contact information is available at: https://www.ncsbe.gov/about-elections/county-boards-elections.
Allison Riggs was first appointed to the North Carolina Supreme Court by Governor Roy Cooper in 2023 after serving on the Court of Appeals. Prior to her judicial service she was a civil rights and voting rights attorney who worked with communities across the South to ensure free and fair elections and safe and healthy environments.
